Restore Our Rights Protest
The Restore Our Rights protest walk, which took place in the Yonge/Eglington area of Toronto on Father's Day, was a great success.
We wanted to reach out to people at a grassroots level and did that quite successfully. I'd estimate that we had 50+ people come out and several people spontaneously joined in as we were en route. One gentleman who owns a Rhodesian ridgeback cross (his dog is not banned under Bill 132) came from Niagara Falls and we had several families come from Hamilton, Burlington, Kitchener and other cities. We had something in the region of 30 dogs at the event and as we expected they were exceptionally well behaved. There were a large number of purebred Staffordshire Bull Terriers (approx. 20), several American Pit Bull Terriers (approx. 10) and a some dogs from other breeds including a Whippet, Scottie and Sheltie.
As we walked we handed out 240 information flyers to people walking along Yonge Street.
Here are some photos from the protest walk.
